อีริคสัน (NASDAQ: ERIC) คาด สิ้นปี 2030 จำนวนบัญชีผู้ใช้บริการ 5G ทั่วโลก จะพุ่งแตะ 6.3 พันล้านราย ตามรายงาน Ericsson Mobility Report (ฉบับเดือนมิถุนายน 2025) และคาดว่าสิ้นปี 2025 บัญชีผู้ใช้ 5G ทั่วโลกจะเพิ่มเป็น 2.9 พันล้านราย หรือคิดเป็น 1 ใน 3 ของยอดผู้ใช้บริการมือถือทั้งหมด
ปริมาณการใช้ดาต้าเน็ตบนเครือข่ายมือถือทั่วโลกเพิ่มขึ้น 19% จากไตรมาสแรกของปี 2024 เมื่อเทียบกับช่วงเดียวกันของปีนี้ ถึงแม้อัตราการเติบโตจะลดลง แต่ปริมาณการใช้ดาต้ายังเพิ่มขึ้นทุกปี โดยในรายงาน Ericsson Mobility Report ยังคาดการณ์ว่ายอดการใช้ดาต้าเน็ตมือถือจะเพิ่มมากกว่าสองเท่าตลอดช่วงของการคาดการณ์จนถึงสิ้นปี 2030
เมื่อสิ้นปี 2024 เครือข่าย 5G รองรับการใช้ดาต้าเน็ตมือถือทั่วโลกถึง 35% โดยคาดการณ์ว่าสิ้นปี 2030 ตัวเลขนี้จะขยับเพิ่มขึ้นเกินกว่า 80%
เครือข่าย 5G Mid-Band ครอบคลุมเกิน 50% ของจำนวนประชากรในทวีปยุโรป เมื่อสิ้นปี 2024 อย่างไรก็ดีถึงแม้ว่าความครอบคลุมของเครือข่าย 5G Mid-Band ในภูมิภาคนี้จะอยู่ในระนาบเดียวกับค่าเฉลี่ยของโลก แต่ยังตามหลังประเทศผู้นำต่าง ๆ อาทิ อเมริกาเหนือที่นำ 5G Mid-Band มาใช้งานครอบคลุมเกินกว่า 90% ของประชากร และอินเดียที่ใช้ 5G Mid-Band ครอบคลุมถึง 95% ของประชากร
ในปี 2030 คาดว่าจำนวนบัญชีผู้ใช้บริการ 5G ในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และโอเชียเนีย จะเพิ่มเป็น 630 ล้านราย คิดเป็นสัดส่วนประมาณ 49% ของจำนวนบัญชีผู้ใช้บริการมือถือทั้งหมดในภูมิภาคนี้ ขณะที่ปริมาณการใช้ดาต้าเน็ตต่อสมาร์ทโฟนคาดว่าจะเติบโตจาก 19 กิกะไบต์ต่อเดือน ในปี 2024 เพิ่มเป็น 38 กิกะไบต์ต่อเดือน ในปี 2030
สำหรับประเทศไทย เครือข่าย 5G เป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนสำคัญของการบริโภคข้อมูลและการเพิ่มรายได้เฉลี่ยต่อผู้ใช้งาน (ARPU)

เนื่องจากอุปกรณ์ generative AI (GenAI) เป็นที่แพร่หลายและแอปฯ AI มีความซับซ้อนยิ่งขึ้น ผู้ให้บริการแอปพลิเคชันและผู้ให้บริการด้านการสื่อสารจึงต้องให้ความสำคัญกับความสามารถในการอัปลิงก์ (Uplink) และระยะเวลาแฝงในการรับ-ส่งข้อมูล (Latency) มากขึ้น ตามรายงาน Ericsson Mobility Report ระบุถึงอุปกรณ์ 5G ที่เป็นนวัตกรรมอื่น ๆ นอกเหนือจาก GenAI ที่ฝังอยู่ในสมาร์ทโฟนรุ่นไฮเอนด์ อย่าง แว่นตาอัจฉริยะที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วย AI และใช้ประสิทธิภาพจากการโต้ตอบด้วยเสียง รวมถึงการนำประสิทธิภาพการเชื่อมต่อที่แตกต่างกัน (Differentiated Connectivity) มาใช้มากขึ้นในแอปพลิเคชันใหม่ ๆ สำหรับผู้บริโภคและสำหรับองค์กร โดย Differentiated Connectivity จะเป็นกุญแจสำคัญมอบประสบการณ์คุณภาพสูงให้กับผู้ใช้ สำหรับ AI Agent ที่ออกแบบมาเฉพาะบุคคลและแอปพลิเคชันการสนทนาอื่น ๆ

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) said global 5G subscription is expected to reach 6.3 billion by the end of 2030. The June 2025 Ericsson Mobility Report forecasts 5G subscriptions to top 2.9 billion globally by the end of 2025 – about one third of all mobile subscriptions.
Mobile network data traffic increased by 19 percent from the first quarter of 2024 to the corresponding period in 2025. Despite a declining growth rate, net added traffic will continue to increase year-on-year, with the June 2025 EMR forecasting that mobile data traffic will more than double through the forecast period through the end of 2030.
5G networks handled 35 percent of global mobile traffic by the end of 2024, with forecasters expecting the figure to top 80 percent by the end of 2030.
In Europe, 5G mid-band coverage topped 50 percent population coverage by the end of 2024. While the figure puts the region in line with the global average, it lags far behind frontrunner countries such as North America where 5G mid-band deployment has topped 90 percent population coverage, and India where 5G mid-band population coverage reached 95 percent by the end of 2024.
5G subscriptions in Southeast Asia and Oceania are expected to reach 630 million by 2030, contributing around 49% of total mobile subscriptions in the region by then. Data traffic per smartphone is expected to grow from 19 GB/month in 2024 to 38 GB/month by 2030.
In Thailand, 5G has become a significant driver of data consumption and increased average revenue per user (ARPU).

Enhanced deployment of 5G SA will provide an even stronger foundation for adoption and drive new use cases for both enterprises and consumers.
As generative AI (GenAI) devices proliferate and AI apps become increasingly complex, both application service providers and communication service providers will need to focus more on uplink capabilities and latency. The Ericsson Mobility Report talks about ongoing 5G device innovation with GenAI in smartphones expanding beyond high-end models, AI-powered smart glasses gaining utility through audio interaction, and increased adoption of differentiated connectivity for new consumer and enterprise applications. Differentiated connectivity will be key in enabling a high-quality user experience for personalized AI agents and other conversational applications.
